Paul Corver
Group Head of M&A @Randall & Quilter
Paul Corver is the group head of Legacy M&A at R&Q and has been active in the run-off space for almost 30 years. Aside from managing both solvent and insolvent run-off companies, for the past ten years he has been actively acquiring portfolios of legacy liabilities for R&Q. These have included acquisitions, LPT’s, Part VII and business transfers, novations, mergers and assumptions. Transactions have been concluded in numerous territories and with companies such as Unilever, John Laing, Virgin Atlantic, Clariant, Astra Zeneca, Chubb and Axa LM.
Derek Jones
Principal and Consulting Actuary @Milliman
Derek’s experience includes due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, funding level estimation for self-insurance groups, loss reserving, ratemaking, reinsurance, and risk-based capital projections. His recent work has focused on medical professional liability, surety, and workers’ compensation, for which he has performed rate analyses, reserve reviews, and limited claim reviews. Derek has also performed analyses of asbestos and pollution liabilities for both insurers and reinsurers. The clients he serves include insurance and reinsurance companies, captive insurers and self-insurance groups, and legislative and regulatory bodies.
Meir Lewis
Head of Financial Institutions Investment Banking, Americas @Nomura
Meir Lewis joined Nomura in 2020 as the Head of Financial Institutions Investment Banking, Americas.  He has 20 years of experience focused on M&A, advisory and capital raising for financial institutions clients and private equity firms - including several legacy liability insurers and strategies.  Prior to Nomura, Meir was the Head of Insurance Investment Banking for Deutsche Bank since 2017 and served as a Managing Director for Morgan Stanley since 2012 with a focus on insurance transactions.
